Not as well built as my previous ip4700 and setting up to print CD labels required a lot of messing around. I finally realised I had to use the software that I had used previously and not the 'new' program for this function, but it does not tell you that anywhere! It took a lot of time to finally get everything working ok.
Very noisy printer and slow to get going - but seems to work well.
Pros: Compact Design, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Difficult Setup, Flimsy Construction

We have a high end Canon scanner so all I needed was a wireless printer that also Airprints. Installation was easy and it works well. It was slightly larger than our old Canon inkjet thus crowding my desk but being wireless all I needed to do was move it to another location within my home "office" thus freeing up some valuable desktop real estate.
Our only issue is that sometimes it tends to 'sleep' and we need to wake up before it will actually start printing but I suspect this is more due to some wireless issues we've been having. Waking it up is as easy gently lifting and dropping the lid.
Pros: Easy Setup

We bought this printer as our previous ip4300 suddenly died and we had a number of DVDs to print for clients. Note: the ip4300 probably lost only the power supply, which simply unclips and yet is not a spare part one can buy. Had it not died, we would have had no reason to buy this new printer.
As well as the DVD printing, we were attracted by AirPrint capability - we're a house of heavy iPhone and iPad users.
Linking to the ADSL router with WPS was quick and worked perfectly.
The AirPrint works simply and even knows to send documents to the lower paper tray and photos to the upper tray. It is slow and the colours are a bit off on photos printed from my iPhone 4S - enough that I wouldn't use it for anything that mattered.
Paper handling is fine and duplex printing works well.
If you don't need DVD printing, don't bother installing the Canon driver. The Apple CUPS drivers work fine but don't support DVD printing. My Mac Mini instantly saw the printer over WPS and set it up as a ip7200 series.
We did however need DVD printing. I'm a techo and experienced but I could not get the printer to install on my wife's older Mac Pro running 10.7. Instead I had to install it using the Canon drivers on my Mini, then share that to the older machine.
DVD printing seems rather harder than on the ip4300. It's a lot fussier about when you insert the tray and you have to keep a close eye on the print queue window to follow instructions, which aren't exactly obvious.
The printer is also a lot slower to get ready to print. It clunks and whirs and coughs and can take minutes to be ready even when already turned on; far worse than the ip4300.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, Flimsy Construction

I have found the Pixma iP7260 is just what I needed. My old iP4200 gave great service but I was in need of an upgrade. As I already have a Canoscan scanner I just wanted a printer. The quality is excellent and the double tray system saves having to change paper to print a photo. I also needed a DVD printer and this does the job great even works with the old software CD Print. I would recommend this machine to anyone requiring a quality printer.
Pros: Reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors, Easy to use

Compared to the Canon printers that I've owned in the past, this one definitely seems a step ahead in terms of a quality finished product. The plastic shell seems nicer, the fact that the paper tray doesn't jut out at the printers base anymore and the paper catcher now folds out automatically when the case is opened. So far everyday printing has been perfect and I've run into no issues with it. It's start up time does seem a little slow (it does do the printer head dance for a while before printing). But otherwise it's a great wireless printer and sits nicely in a small space, hidden away and read to print when needed.
Pros: Reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup
Cons: Large Footprint
